What laser system do you use?
Using one of the worlds leading technology the "Candela Gentle Max Pro" is the gold standard for laser hair removal in all skin types. It is a dual wavelength laser platform that combines the fastest and most powerful 755 nm Alexandrite laser with an equally powerful 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser for high performance treatment capabilities in terms of speed, efficacy, performance, safety and client satisfaction.
Does it hurt?
Laser hair removal is a safe and effective procedure. The discomfort associated with laser hair removal is fairly minimal. The sensation feels like a rubber band snapping on the skin. In most cases, the treatment is not painful. However, some people experience mild discomfort while others experience no discomfort at all. It depends on your pain tolerance, menstrual cycle, treatment area and how much heat is already present prior to your treatment.
Laser Facials are a non ablative treatment with no downtime. This is a relaxing treatment with no discomfort.
Is it safe for all skin types?
The energy of the laser selectively targets dark melanin in the hair follicle, which is what gives hair its colour. As the laser beam travels through the skin it heats up this dark pigment, which damages the follicle and destroys its ability to produce hair. How does laser hair removal work?
Laser hair removal is a procedure that uses a concentrated laser, to remove unwanted hair from various parts of the body. At Zen we use the Candela Gentle Max Pro which provides a dual wave length (Alexandrite and Nd:YAG laser) making it safe for all skin types. Multiple treatments are required and touch ups once or twice a year may be needed to maintain long term results.
Am I a suitable candidate?
Laser hair removal is safe for most people but there are some contraindications and people who should avoid treatment.
We are unable to offer treatment to the following clients that have one or more of the following:
Pregnant and/or breast feeding
Active skin infection
Photosensitizing medications (Accutane)
Skin cancer
Recently sun exposed skin or sun burned skin (including tanning beds)
Spray tan in the last 4 weeks
Epileptic
